Six Flags of America in Upper Marlboro has unveiled a new roller coaster.
Called the Firebird, the new roller coaster replaces the Apocalypse roller coaster that once stood in the park but was destroyed due to fire. The primary jaw-dropping feature of the ride is that the train is floorless, letting people’s feet dangle in the open air.
Sam Marks, an enthusiast of roller coasters, said that the additional exposure makes the rider feel a greater sensation of the speed as they are being hit by air from all directions. Marks and many other members of the American Coaster Enthusiasts organization were among the first to try out the new ride.
The ride lasts for two minutes and covers 2,900 feet of track, as the train travels at 56 miles per hour. There is a nine-story drop, two inversions, and other new state-of-the-art experiences. The final run involves fire to add to the thrill of the ride.
Promotional Products can be used to advertise such new attractions and their excitement while still emphasizing their safety.
Denise Stokes, communications manager at Six Flags America, commented that this is the next generation in roller coasters, as the ride has been completely redesigned and reimagined. She added that it is not very often that people can try such new roller coaster trains.
The new roller coaster was opened to the public on Friday, May 17.
