New interim CEO appointed in Upper Marlboro school district

The public schools of Prince George’s County, to which Upper Marlboro belongs, recently announced Dr. Monica Goldson as interim CEO.

Dr. Goldson started her career 27 years ago as a teacher in the county. Her most recent positions was deputy superintendent.

Goldson commented that this is a new era of transparency and accountability for the school system and she will be responsible for all the decisions that are made in the county. She plans to hide nothing from the media and keep the lines of communication open. As she has children who attend the county’s schools, she will ensure that parents can trust the system as much as she does.

Goldson is looking to ensure better fiscal responsibility as well in a promise to taxpayers that their money will be spent in appropriate places. She has assured the public that she is doing her due diligence by analyzing the pay scales in the district and making sure they are aligned with other districts in the state.

Angela Alsobrooks, Prince George’s County State’s Attorney, congratulated Dr. Goldson on her appointment, commenting that now the district will be able to focus on its students, their teachers, and their parents.

Various printing services could be used by such school districts to announce appointments like these and the resulting benefits for the community.
