The official inaugural 1 Miler with the Mayor will soon take place in Upper Marlboro. The event features an opportunity to ring in the New Year with mayor of the city.
The one-mile course boasts a scenic tour through the city. This is an inaugural event consisting of a run or walk, with each participant receiving a customized T-shirt highlighting the big accomplishment at the end of the race.
At the conclusion of the race, participants will be invited to attend a breakfast at one of the Main Street restaurants. The mayor will join the walkers and runners giving everyone a chance to get to know more about the philosophies and vision for the city.
Organizers of such events can consider using the services of local Print shops for necessary signage such as banner printing. The Banners can be used for directional purposes as well as event stations. By using heavy vinyl, they will withstand weather elements.
The run will take place Wednesday, January 1, at the Show Place Arena. The venue is located at 14900 Pennsylvania Ave. Bib pick-up will begin at 9:00 am and the race will start at 10:00 am. Restrooms can be found at the beginning and finish lines. Parking is free at the Show Place Arena.
