Prince George’s Community College recently announced that it held a special event as part of the Giving Tuesday campaign.
In celebration of college’s 60th anniversary, the college was looking for donations from six different categories of people - retirees, alumni, corporations, friends, new donors, and employees.
Executive director of the Office of Institutional Advancement, Brenda Mitchell, was excited by the number of people who joined in as part of the “Let’s Score 60 for the 60” campaign. With a campus in both Largo and Upper Marlboro, this was a good way for the community to come together and start the holiday season of giving.
Those who participated in this special campaign could purchase a commemorative plate as a way to make a donation for a seat in the Center for Performing Arts, which has been recently renovated, or a commemorative brick to be used on the courtyards of Lanham Hall and the Center for Performing Arts. The college also has an “Owl Give’ annual campaign to which people could donate.
Various kinds of printing services can be used to promote such anniversaries throughout the community and their consequent fundraising efforts. Such monetary support enables colleges such as Prince George’s Community College to expand its offerings for students and provide more hands-on, real-life training.
