Upper Marlboro families and individuals are invited to walk or run the 5th Annual Color Fun Run coming in mid-April. This race will not be timed.
Participants are advised to wear old clothing such as white shirts so the bright color sprayed into the air at designated places along the route will show up on the material. The color agent, a food grade powder, will be easy to wash off.
Registration will begin March 8 at noon and will be $75 per family, $35 for individuals, and $15 for kids from four to sixteen. Swag will include finisher medals, sunglasses, and bib numbers (all featuring the Color Fun Run graphic design) and admission to the after-party. Upper Marlboro vendors will be at the after-race party selling colorful items as souvenirs.
Registration will begin at 8:00 am on race day. Warm-ups will be at 8:30 am, and the race will start at 9:00 am.
All proceeds will go to the Derek Anthony Moore Charity Inc., a local non-profit organization that meets the immediate needs of Upper Marlboro residents. The organization will use these particular event funds to sponsor a youth for summer camp and to support Mothers of Murdered Children.
The DAMCI Family Color Fun Run has been scheduled for Saturday, April 22 at Watkins Regional Park, 301 Watkins Park Drive. The event should be over sometime around 11:00 am.
