Golfers have two options for August

Big Skins Benefit Golf Tournament and a City Tour tournament will be coming to Upper Marlboro at the end of August.

Tournament registration is $175 until August 28 and will increase to $200 on game day.

Five sponsorship levels are available, ranging from sponsors at $250 to platinum level at $5,000.

After a light breakfast, the shotgun start will begin at 8:30 am. An awards ceremony banquet will take place in the evening. There will be prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive. Each hole is considered a “Skin,” and the golfer that wins it will receive a prize of $250.

Proceeds will go to the George B. Thomas Learning Academy, Inc., which is a non-profit organization tutoring and mentoring Montgomery County children.

Big Skins Benefit Golf Tournament will take place Monday, August 29 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at Oak Creek Golf Club on 600 Bowieville Manor Lane.

Another golf competition will take place a couple of days earlier from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Lake Presidential Golf Club, 3151 Presidential Golf Drive on Saturday, August 27.

For the $112 registration fee, amateur golfers will receive access to carts, tee gifts, golf balls featuring the Srixon Z-Star Logo Design, and access to the driving range.

Teams of four to six players may choose either scramble or best-ball format.
