The 14th Annual Beltway BBQ Showdown will be coming to Upper Marlboro in early June.
The Kansas City Barbeque Society has sanctioned the event at a Master Series level and the Governor of Maryland has classified it as Maryland's State BBQ Championship. Teams will be vying for the chance to compete in the Kansas City American Royal BBQ competition taking place from October 30 to November 3. Competitors will not be serving their BBQ to festival attendees.
However, everyone will want to bring their appetites and enjoy tasting numerous varieties of BBQ available from vendors in the tasting tent. The event will also have cooking demonstrations, crafts and goods for sale, and a truck, car, and bike show. An area will be reserved for children and family activities.
Four sponsorship levels are available. Select sponsors at the $500 level and in-kind sponsors donating or lending items such as portable restrooms, water, car show prizes, golf carts, and ATM machines will receive 10' by 10' spaces with one table and two chairs in the Exhibit Area.
Companies sponsoring at the $1,000 and $2,000 levels will need to get their banner printing done for two Banners to be hung in highly visible areas.
This year's Beltway BBQ Showdown will take place from noon to 6:00 pm next Sunday, June 2 at The Show Place Arena, 14900 Pennsylvania Avenue.
