A new round of relief funds will be given to 70 non-profit organizations in Western Massachusetts, including Springfield, by the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts.
A total amount of $2.05 million will be awarded, with the maximum amount of $50,000 to each non-profit to be used for general operations. Receiving these funds will be 47 non-profit organizations whose missions align with the strategic priorities of the foundation, which include college readiness, workforce development, creativity, and a strong start for children. There will be 23 other organizations that will receive awards whose work includes youth and human services, housing, food, and mental health.
Among the non-profits in Springfield that will be receiving these funds are the Community Music School of Springfield, Leadership Pioneer Valley, and McKnight Community Development Corp.
President and CEO of the Community Foundation, Katie Allan Zobel, said that a healthy non-profit sector is important for the community. She added that these funds will help these organizations to continue their important work during these times and well into the future.
