Springfield asks community feedback on future of library
A new citywide survey is now available for residents of Springfield to help shape the future of library spaces, services, and priorities.
The library has partnered with ReThinking Libraries, a strategic consulting firm, to redefine and update its Strategic Mission, Values, Priorities, and Vision. ReThinking Libraries expressed his honor in partnering in this process.
The survey is anonymous and takes only 10 minutes to complete. Input for the survey will influence the next strategic plan of the library and ensure it reflects the hopes and changing needs of the community. The survey is available in seven languages and can be taken either on paper or online. It is the goal of the library to collect at least 2,000 complete surveys.
Local print shops can boost awareness for vital community surveys by creating posters, flyers, and other printed materials. These eye-catching tools, displayed in key spots like cafes and community boards, inspire residents to participate and shape local initiatives with their input.
The director of the library, Molly Fogarty, said:
She expressed pride in continuing to build on the energy resulting from the several campaigns driven by the community by enabling residents to have a say in the library’s future. She added that they are looking forward to hearing everyone’s vision, thoughts, and ideas for what the library can become.
