Springfield to host special family-friendly activities

The Fabulous February events are to take place later this month, following an announcement from the Springfield Board of Park Commissioners; the Executive Director of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation Management; and Mayor Domenic J. Sarno.

Forest Park will be the scene for family-friendly activities over two days, offering the perfect opportunity for residents to enjoy quality time together in one of the region's most scenic natural spaces. Most events will be hosted on Porter Lake at the Clifford A. Phaneuf Environmental Center. To encourage maximum attendance, no entrance fee will be charged for vehicles.

The first day will feature a Wilderness Adventure for those between 7 and 15 years of age, along with ice sculptures, a hot dog roast, and face painting for those of all ages. Other events will include Magic by Derek, Build a Bird Feeder, and a Family Jungle, and there will also be horse-drawn carriage rides starting at the Moriarity Senior Center.

The primary activity of the second day will be Public Skating from noon to 1:50 pm.

Such citywide events can be effectively promoted with flyer printing, allowing organizers to distribute eye-catching, informative materials that reach residents directly throughout the community.

The first day of Fabulous February will be Monday, February 16 while the second day will be Tuesday, February 17. All events are free.
