A new Wahlburgers restaurant is currently under construction in Springfield at the corner of Union and Main Streets. It is located at the former location of Dave’s Furniture, before the land was cleared for the construction of MGM Springfield.
Banner printing is often used at such sites to make those in the community aware of any ongoing projects and keep them informed of their progress.
The Wahlberg family, raised in Dorchester, own the Wahlburgers chain, which is led by Chef Paul Wahlberg and his brothers—Donnie from “Blue Bloods” and Mark from “Ted” and “Lone Survivor” on television. The family also has a reality show on television call “Wahlburgers.”
This new eatery will be 4,500 square feet in size, and will feature the comfort food the Wahlberg family grew up with, including crispy haddock, seared chicken, fresh burgers, condiments made in-house, and options for vegetarians.
The Wahlberg family started their first restaurant in 2011 in Hingham, and the family now has 31 more restaurants across the United States, with locations in Lynnfield, Hingham, Boston, Dorchester, and at Logan International Airport, as well as in London and Toronto. The family also operates food trucks in Boston; Detroit, Michigan, and Palo Alto, California.
Although current global health concerns pose a challenge, the Wahlburgers restaurant is expected to open later this year, most likely by July.
