Springfield to host convention of building bricks

The MassMutual Center in Springfield will be hosting the Springfield Brick Convention in August.

This is a convention of Lego fans and is expected to be one of the largest events centered on these colorful building blocks in the world. It will feature professional Lego artists from across the county who will display their creations and talk with fans. Several Lego celebrities will also be holding meet and greet sessions. There will also be a Construction Zone where attendees will be to get creative as there will be thousands of bricks and live builds for people to watch and participate in. There will also be galleries with life-sized models made of Lego.

Additional attractions at the convention will include a retail shop with Lego merchandise such as new and retired Lego sets and items from many vendors; a Castle Build Zone for building a medieval Lego creation; a Fan Zone with epic Lego creations; and a Star Wars Zone with Lego creations from the franchise. Such conventions often turn to flyer printing to provide details on all events and activities for attendees.

A portion of the proceeds of the event will go to supporting Creations for Charity, which is a non-profit organization that purchases new Lego sets for children in need during the holiday season.

The price of a ticket is $15. The Springfield Brick Convention will be on Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August 20.
