The Forest Park Concert Series will be hosted by the Springfield Parks Department this summer. The outdoor concerts will be held at the Forest Park Amphitheater and are free and open to the public.
Such concert series can be promoted throughout a city and surrounding communities with poster printing.
Domenic Sarno, mayor of Springfield, expressed his thrill with these concerts returning to Forest Park. He said that he is committed to enhancing the enjoyment of the park system of the city and this will be especially true for the lineup this year. He added that the series of summer concerts each year at Forest Park is an example of programs by the city that promote and enhance the quality of life in the city.
Thomas Ashe, Executive Director of Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management, expressed his thanks to the mayor for his support of these types of events that are family-oriented and enable people to enjoy the music and the park.
The concerts that are scheduled for this year are:
• Jake Manzi, performing rock and pop music on June 6
• The Alex Rohan Band, performing blues, soft rock, and alternative music on June 13
• Dee Reilly, performing patriotic and country music on June 20
• Floyd Patterson's Hipptown, performing rhythm and blues, soul, Motown, and contemporary music on June 27.
All concerts are on Thursdays and begin at 6:30 p.m.
