Two Lieutenants, Brian Beliveau and Reginald Miller, have been promoted to the rank of captain in the Springfield Police Department.
Such promotions are often made known throughout the community with poster printing.
A pinning ceremony was held for the two officers, attended by the Springfield Police Department and Thomas Ashe, Chief of Staff. Cheryl Clapprood, Superintendent of the Springfield Police Department, said that the service of the two new captains covers more than 50 years combined. Clapprood added that their experience is essential to the department as they will provide leadership and guidance to the officers and will be able to ensure that the department complies with all new rules and regulations.
Domenic Sarno, mayor of Springfield, congratulated the new captains and their families. He added that they both earned and deserved these promotions. He also expressed his thanks to the two new captains for their service and dedication to keeping the businesses and residents of the city safe.
