Springfield brings movies to the park

Several parks in Springfield, Massachusetts will be providing entertainment in the form of movies this summer.

Kenefick Park, Blunt Park, and Forest Park will each be taking turns on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays over the next three weeks to screen family-friendly movies for the residents of Springfield. The movie for the first week will be the 1993 film ‘Homeward Bound’, followed by ‘Tarzan’ on the second week, and the Disney animated movie ‘Up’ on the third.

The executive director of parks, buildings, and recreation management for Springfield, Patrick Sullivan, commented on the upcoming movies in the park:

"We appreciate Mayors Sarno's commitment to restore programming and activities for our residents. Movies in the park provide an opportunity for the whole family to be together under the stars and enjoying time together. Bring your favorite movie snack and have a good time!"

The first movie will be playing at Kenefick Park tomorrow, July 17, and the last will be shown at Forest Park on August 4. All movies will begin at 8:15 pm at their designated location for the week, and admission for those who wish to attend is free.
