Bright Nights in Forest Park is now open for the holiday season in Springfield.

Bright Nights is a collaboration between the Department of Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management from the City of Springfield Department of Parks and the Spirit of Springfield, a private non-profit organization. Since the annual tradition opened in 1995, more than six million visitors. The Spirit of Springfield is expecting that close to 300 cars will drive through the lights every hour this year.

The displays feature the Giant Poinsettia Candles, the American Flag, Victorian Village, and Jurassic World. People can tune into WELF 100.7 FM for musical selections to accompany their Bright Nights experience. Poster printing is often used to create colorful displays to promote such special seasonal events throughout the region.

There is also a Bright Nights Gift Shop at the Springfield Visitor Center on Main Street, open Tuesday through Saturday.

Tickets need to be purchased in advance and are $23 per car, $35 for limousines, $59 for minibuses that seat a maximum of 31 people, and $100 for buses with a capacity of more than 31 people The hours are from 4:45 to 8:45 pm with the display running until Wednesday, January 6.
