MGM Springfield recently announced that reservations are being accepted for its suites and rooms at its resort casino, which is opening next month. At a cost of $960m to construct, the casino offers 252 rooms, of which 16 are suites. Nightly rates begin at $219.
General Manager of MGM Springfield, Alex Dixon, commented it will be a special day when the casino is able to open its doors to the public. A hospitality team of 3,000 industry professionals has been working diligently to make the casino a special destination and a memorable experience for visitors, he added.
The history of the city is reflected in the design of the rooms, as windows are framed with historical building facades to reflect the architecture of the surrounding area. The Presidential Suite has a Dr. Seuss inspired customer chandelier made of vintage hats and the Garden and Spa Suites have tables made from reclaimed wood from trees on the former Bliss Street.
The resort will also have a luxury movie theatre with seven screens and the work of two local artists on display.
