New childhood education facility to be developed in Springfield

Square One plans to build a new state-of-the-art facility on Main Street in Springfield, which was their location prior to the tornado in 2011.

Square One provides early childhood education, care, and family support services to enable families to participate in activities and help them learn new parenting skills, among other services. Local Print shops can often help in spreading the word about such new facilities and their services with Flyers and other printed materials.

In the new facility, there will be family support services, administrative offices, and four classrooms for preschoolers. This expansion was made possible by benefactors and supporters in the community. The state delegation in Springfield was able to secure $2m towards this project, and funds from the American Rescue Plan Act were awarded by Mayor Domenic J. Sarno in the amount of $1m.

Mayor Sarno congratulated Dawn DiStefano, President and CEO of Square One, and her devoted team in making the announcement of this new facility. He appreciates their dedicated and continued efforts in providing an excellent nurturing, caring, safe, and educational environment for the children and their families in the city. He expressed his pride in continuing to support this endeavor financially so that the organization can expand its services, noting that initiatives in workforce development and education for pre-kindergarten students have been a trademark of his administration.
