New center for autism opens in Springfield

An autism treatment center has been opened by the Stepping Stones Group in Springfield. The center will provide treatment services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Located on William Street, the new center has group therapy rooms, spacious individual therapy rooms, and sensory gyms, with an outdoor playground planned for the spring. Evidence-based and individualized treatments are provided by a compassionate team in a supportive, safe, and nurturing environment. Services focus on the preferences and strengths of the children to improve the quality of life for both the children and their families.

Among the many programs offered by the center are a full-day program for children between 18 months and 6 years old, one for early learners, an afternoon schedule, and one for children of school age.

It is expected that the center will create at least 30 new full-time jobs that offer excellent benefits, such as holiday pay and paid time off, and strong starting salaries, so those interested in a new career may be heading to local Print shops for résumé and business card printing services.

The CEO of The Stepping Stones Group, Tim Murphy, expressed his excitement about opening this center for the community in Springfield and being able to provide the support and care needed by children and their families affected by autism.
