Financial literacy center to come to Springfield

The Center for Financial Literacy and Economic Prosperity at American International College (AIC) in Springfield has received funding in the amount of $1m due to a bill recently approved by Congress.

The federal funding will enable the future home of the center to come to life. An existing building on campus will be renovated, becoming the home of the center.

AIC said that the goal of the project is to combat financial illiteracy and to empower low-income individuals to come to Springfield. The center will feature outreach and research programs, as well as comprehensive financial education.

Brochure printing can be used in time to provide more details about the features and benefits of such centers.

Nicole Cestero, interim president of AIC, said that this will be a place where people can get answers to their financial questions. She added that seminars, workshops, and training centers will be offered so people can get hands-on experience to advance their knowledge.

Richard Neal, from the first district and former mayor of Springfield, said that financial literacy will be important for the future as there will be more opportunities for investments around the country. He added that there will be more people in charge of these investments and giving advice, and he hopes that this will be part of the mission statement of the center once it is completed.
