Fabulous February, an annual event, will be coming to Forest Park in Springfield later this month.
The two-day event will be filled with family-friendly activities and is aiming to provide attendees with fun and relaxation in one of the city’s popular parks. Such events can be promoted within the community with Flyers and Posters created by local Print shops.
The first day of Fabulous February will have a live sculpture event as attendees watch how a block of ice is made into the figure of a deer. There will also be an old-fashioned hot dog roast, where people will be able to roast their own hot dogs over an open fire. Beverages, popcorn, and hot dogs will be sold for $1.00 each. Face painting will also be offered, and a special show blending comedy and magic may be enjoyed by people of all ages.
ReGreen Springfield will also be on hand to help people create an eco-friendly and easy bird feeder that can be used in the backyard. There will also be hayrides around Forest Park, starting at the Moriarity Senior Center. Joe Carvalho will be doing a presentation on Dr. Suess, revealing the connection the famous writer had with Forest Park that influenced the landscapes in his Books. The second day will feature an afternoon of public skating.
