The Dental Hygiene Clinic at Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) will be offering free treatments for preventative care for both adults and children this month.
The coordinator of the Dental Hygiene program, Meg Loadholt, said that among the services offered at the clinic are X-rays, scaling and teeth cleaning, and fluoride treatments. The clinic will also be providing dental sealants for children, which can normally cost between $30 and $60 per tooth. Dental hygiene students from STCC will provide the comprehensive oral health under the direction of licensed dentists and dental hygienists. Print shops often have ideas for promoting such services and their benefits for the community.
Chair of the Valley District Dental Society, Martin Wohl, DDS, said that the long-standing value of the Department of Dental Hygiene at STCC continues to be proven with this offer as it is the premier training center in the region for those looking to join the dental profession. He added that providing such expertise at this time highlights how responsible the program and the students feel about their community. He hopes that people will take advantage of this offer, noting that it will be of benefit to the students as well as the wider community.
The clinic will be opened from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
