A course on how to start and run a successful business flipping houses in Massachusetts will be offered at Springfield Technical Community College (STCC).
Jim Danko, a spokesperson for the college, said that the course, House Flipping 101, will be a six-week course and will be offered online through the college’s online learning managements system, Blackboard. It will include covering those guidelines for building and legal standards that are needed in the sector of residential building.
Each week of the course will have live sessions, content, and discussion boards. In order to be successful in the course, students will be required to do a minimum of eight hours of work. The course is self-paced with no real-time interaction with the professor or other students, so students need to keep up with the course as their schedules allow.
Jennifer DeForge, who teaches in the Architecture and Building Technology program at STCC, will be the professor for the course. Among the topics she will cover will be where to buy property, understanding the real estate market, evaluating properties, and estimating the costs of renovation. Also covered in the course will be tax implications, rolling over a buyer’s profits into the next flip, and house flipping mistakes. More details about such courses are often outlined in flyer printing.
The course will run from Monday April 5 through Friday May 14.
