A new Home Lottery Application has been announced, providing affordable homeownership possibilities for qualified home purchasers in the neighborhood of Maple-High Six Corners in Springfield.
The announcement was by Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and other officials from the community.
There are four homes under construction. The North End Housing Initiative is working with NAI Plotkin and Youth Build to develop two of the homes, while C&C Homes is developing the other two homes. One home is on Pine Street and the other three can be found on Central Street.
There will be three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms in each home. The price of each home will be $190,000. Flyer printing is often used to highlight the special features of such homes and their neighborhood amenities.
Purchasers of these homes will be selected through a lottery system. To qualify for the lottery system, applicants need to be a resident of Springfield, be a homebuyer for the first time, have a household income that is below 80% of the area median income, be pre-approved for a mortgage for the price of the home, and be counseled by housing counselor with Housing and Urban Development certification.
Construction on the homes and their sale is expected to be completed by the end of next month. Those eligible can apply for the homes here.
