What's Happening in Arlington Heights, IL…

Expo to help people embrace healthy diets

The Chicago Gluten Free and Allergen Friendly Expo is returning to the area for two days this May. A presentation of the Gluten Free Media Group, it should appeal to those who are gluten sensitive and suffering from autoimmune diseases.

Everyone who buys a ticket will receive a free subscription to Delight Gluten Free magazine and a reusable tote bag. The expo is set to feature a vendor fair, with more than 100 local businesses handing out coupons, free samples, and discounts on merchandise and food. In addition, authors will have their own area where they will be discussing their latest publications.

During the two-day event, there will also be a number of classes. Some of those confirmed include sessions on gluten free baking with Vanessa Maltin Weisbrod, getting rid of toxins by Carol Kicinski, and how to be free of chronic allergies with Dan Chapman.

The vendors and authors, likely from Arlington Heights and other nearby communities, will be provided with signage that may be obtained from local printing companies.

The Chicago Gluten Free and Allergen Friendly Expo will take place at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel from May 2 to 3. Admission is $20 for adults and $5 for children between the ages of 3 and 12. Call 630-973-3202 for the most up to date information.
