Arlington Heights takes an August art walk
For the 47th year, the local Arlington Heights Art Guild will be presenting its summer fine art fair, ‘Walk in the Park’.”
The one-day event will have between 80 and 100 artists from our area and around the Mid-West displaying their original works to over 2500 visitors. This will be a juried show and nothing will be bought or sold. The event will be free and open to the public.
Artists will be showing their work in various media, such as ceramics, jewelry, glasswork, woodwork, photography, sculpture, and of course painting. New artists will be juried. Since the work will not be for sale, those interested in particular pieces will want to get the relevant artist’s business cards for contacting them at a later date.
Along with the stroll through the exhibits and talking with the artists, guests will be treated to a classical guitarist who will be adding ambience to the occasion with popular classic guitar selections. Ice cream will be available for purchase and a local catering service will have food samplings. Children will have a special tent to create their own art.
The Walk in the Park art fair will be at North School Park at the intersection of H. Evergreen Avenue and E. Eastman Street at 410 N. Arlington Heights Road on Sunday, August 26. Hours will be 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
