Arlington Heights set to make a move
Soon, the Arlington Heights ABC/25 Foundation, along with the Arlington Heights Council of PTAs, will be holding its annual Just Move it Challenge.
The 5k Run/Walk and one-mile Run/Walk fundraiser will be opened to all ages, so it will be a family-oriented event that will combine fun and fitness.
All proceeds will go to the Scholarship and Grant Fund, which is offered to qualified graduating seniors in School District 25. Recipients of these scholarships are determined by the student’s achievements in the classroom, community and school involvement, volunteer and paid work experience, and motivation.
A Health and Fitness Expo will accompany the Race/Walk. Some exhibitors will include the Arlington Heights Police Department, Crunch Fitness, Momentum Health Center, and Runners High’n Tri.
All those interested will want to mark their calendars for Saturday, April 26 and be at South Middle School, 400 S. Highland Avenue.
Race day registration for the 5k will be from 6:30 to 7:45 am, with the race beginning at 8:00 am. The one-mile registration will be from 6:30 until 8:30 am, and that race will begin at 9:00 am. Finally, the Health and Fitness Expo will begin at 7:30 and run until 10:00 am. Preregistration is advised and those participants who do this may still be able to collect bibs and T-shirts at the Runners High N. Tri depending on stock.
