Arlington Heights beats winter blahs with four-piece band
Staving off the winter blues, Hey Nonny will present an evening with Erin Zindle and The Ragbirds toward the end of January.
The group’s music runs the musical gauntlet from world fusion, worldbeat, to indie folk/pop, folk, and folk rock. Their music is often described as vulnerable, intelligent, and danceable. Since all four members of the group are vocalists, their music constantly lends itself to vocal harmonies.
Multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Erin Zindle leads the high-energy folk rock band. Zindle, switches between percussion, piano, kalimba, accordion, banjo, mandolin and violin while singing in her earthy voice. On lead acoustic and electric guitar, including an occasionally guitar riff, will be her brother T.J., with Loren Kranz on drums and Shannon Wade on bass.
Fans of the The Ragbirds may like to get some promotional products before they go to the show. The group has an apparel shop on its website with T-shirts, and hoodies featuring the group’s graphic design. Fans can also buy the Ragbird’s albums, either in CD or digital download format.
The Ragbirds will be at Hey Nonny’s music listening room, 10 S. Vail Avenue, Friday, January 24, 2020. The venue is located downtown right across from Harmony Park. Tickets run $18 for general admission to $40 for premier seating. The performance will begin at 7:30 pm.
