Two farm venues in Shelton are hosting entertainment on the same weekend.
The band Tracy Jo and the Toads will perform at Stone Gardens Farm. Brian Plant accompanies Tracy Jo on guitar to create original music and covers with a blues sound. There is no cost to attend the event.
Stone Gardens Farms started as a roadside stand on Birdseye Road outside Shelton's Dairy, selling flowers and vegetables, and became a farm in 1998. Along with fruits and vegetables that come into season, the farm sells processed meat and poultry. It is located at 83 Saw Mill City Road.
Meanwhile, Jones Family Farms at 606 Walnut Tree Hill Road is hosting its annual Children's Festival for United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund. It is a prominent event for the farm and always takes place on the weekend preceding Halloween.
Guests are welcome to dress up in costumes and enjoy games, face painting, wagon rides, and more. Children can decorate a pumpkin and enjoy the featured entertainment.
Many of the proceeds will go toward UNICEF. The festival started in 1985 and has raised more than $120,000 for the organization since.
Tracy Jo and the Toads will perform on October 24 from noon to 3:00 pm, while the Children's Festival will occur from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on both October 24 and 25.
Organizations often use banner printing to indicate the location of celebrations on large parcels of land.
