Twice a year, Celebrate Shelton organizes the community’s most popular event – its celebration of food trucks.
The fall edition of Food Trucks on the River is now being organized, and although more information is coming and more trucks and entertainers will be added, many of the vendors are already in place. In total there will be more than 25 food trucks, local vendors and artisans, live music, and a mobile bar featuring Love Lou wines and New Belgium beer.
Among the food trucks already confirmed are Top Shelf Fried Dough, Sultan Kebab, Ramen Station, One Beacon Seafood, Brew Haus, Mima’s Kitchen, Queen Be Cuisine, Be Berries, and Awesomesauce.
A limited number of chairs and tables will be available, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.
The festival will be held in Veterans Memorial Park, located at 38 Canal Street East. There is a suggested donation of $5, and free street parking is available near the park, and behind the Conti Building, in the parking lot. Events like this benefit when organizers use flyer printing to create handouts for attendees, listing the food trucks and a schedule of the entertainment.
The festival is now three days long and begins on Friday, September 18, from 5.00 pm until 10.00 pm. It continues on Saturday, September 19 from 11.00 am until 8.00 pm, and concludes on Sunday, September 20 from 11.00 am until 6.00 pm.
