An upcoming event will bring Shelton residents together to celebrate sunshine and music.
The 420 Community Reggae Festival, also known as the Burn N Learn Reggae Fest, is returning for another year. The event will be held at the Holy Ghost Park, which covers 27 acres. This gives everyone plenty of room to enjoy the fun, which includes live music being played all day, as well as a variety of food trucks. Events like this benefit from the publicity they receive when organizers use poster printing to create advertisements.
The reggae artists scheduled to appear are Hannah’s Field, Solgyres, and The Quasi Kings. Hannah’s Field is a reggae duo from the Pacific Northwest, Solgyres is a solarpunk reggae group from New Haven, and The Quasi Kings hail from Columbus, Ohio.
There will be food trucks on site, and a Mocktail Bar will be serving handmade refreshments. Educators and community leaders will be on hand, giving attendees a chance to speak with them directly about local issues in an informal atmosphere.
Everyone is invited wear cheerful reggae colors and bring blankets to relax and enjoy the food and music.
Organizers remind everyone that festival parking is limited, and carpooling is advised where possible. Parking options include the Dog Park’s public lot, or Lyft and Uber, who can meet passengers at Bridgeport Avenue’s commuter lots.
