Holidays will light up Shelton
Shelton is getting ready to celebrate the holidays with a special Holiday Market and the official Community Tree Lighting.
The 12th Celebrate Shelton event will take place at Veterans Memorial Park at the Rotary Pavilion, located in the city’s downtown. Local artisans will be on hand with unique gifts, and a reliable source says that Santa and Mrs. Claus are planning to attend. The presence of the North Pole power couple will give people an opportunity to have photos taken with him.
In addition, the elves will provide cookies and hot cocoa. Community bonfires will help keep everyone warm, and school choirs will perform. Event organizers have made this year’s playlist for the tree lighting available on Spotify in advance of the evening.
A Holiday Market is planned as well. Organizations are looking for at least 15 vendors who will have hand-made items for sale. They are also seeking several food trucks and have room for non-profit organizations.
The excitement starts at 7.30 pm, when the Echo Hose Hook & Ladder Fire Truck pulls up carrying a very special passenger—Santa Claus himself. Children who come to the event should bring their letters to Santa to give them to him. They can take a picture at the same time, and everybody should expect a frosty night and bundle up.
Festive events such as this deserve cheerful advertisements to promote them, which organizations can create by using poster printing methods.
