Free childrens hockey comes to Shelton

Youngsters in Shelton will soon have a chance to find out whether they might be the next Wayne Gretzky or Haley Wickenheiser, thanks to an upcoming free event.

The River Hawks are hosting the upcoming Try Hockey for Free event, which gives children ages four to nine the chance to see if they would enjoy hockey by getting on the ice and handling the equipment. Trained coaches provide a safe and nurturing environment for the youngsters to try their hand at the sport.

Try Hockey for Free is designed especially for children who have no experience with the game. Experts will be at the rink to answer questions from both parents and kids, and ensure that every child’s first experience with the sport is safe and enjoyable.

Try Hockey for Free is a program of USA Hockey, which is the foundation of ice hockey in the United States. The organization encourages youngsters to develop leadership skills, promotes a love of hockey, and connects hockey at every level, from beginner to NHL professional. Today, USA Hockey has a presence in all 50 states, including over one million volunteers, parents, officials, coaches, and players.

Try Hockey for Free is set to take place on March 7, from 12.00 pm until 1.00 pm, at The Rinks. The venue is located 784 River Road in Shelton. When they plan events like this, organizers might use flyer printing to create handouts, which are an economical method of advertising in a local area.
