Friendsgiving fundraiser planned in Shelton

An upcoming event in Shelton will take an unusual approach to fundraising.

The Hope Counseling and Behavioral Health Center is inviting everyone to a “Friendsgiving for Hope.” The funds raised at the event will go to the center to help expand their services, and provide mental health support to those in the community.

Organizers are planning an evening that resembles a gathering of friends. Everyone is asked to bring their own drinks and food, while table setups will be provided for a Friendsgiving-style meal. Attendees should bring cash so they can participate in a 50/50 raffle, and the health center will provide information about its operations.

The renowned Band Central will be providing the entertainment, taking advantage of the power of live music to bring enjoyment to people. Vocalist and bassist Rob Fried founded Band Central after years of performing. The inspiration came when he appeared alongside Paul Newman and Meryl Streep to save Connecticut farmland, and realized “music with purpose” was powerful. With a background in both investment and music, Fried united donors, musicians, audiences, and non-profit partners to help others, using Band Central to create fundraising events.

The venue for the evening is the Center Stage Theatre on Grove Street in Shelton, and the date is Friday, November 21, from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Events like this can increase participation when organizers create colorful advertising for them, which they can do by using poster printing methods.
