Shelton will soon have a grief center that offers support and education in a comfortable setting.
Adam's House will be located at the residence at 241 Coram Avenue opposite city hall, and will be managed by The Adam Wysota Foundation.
As stated in public relations information released by the Foundation, the 5,599 square foot center will be for those going through grief and in need of empathy and advice on dealing with loss. Adam's House founder Allison Wysota wishes to start offering programs by next year, but before that wants to organize a support group for widows by the start of fall. She said she aspires to make Adam's House a safe place to share stories and to be able to talk to others who have been through similar experiences.
Before the center can open, the organization must finish alterations to the landscaping and interior decor. The foundation also needs volunteers with experience in all types of work from renovating to counseling. The family of the late Adam Wysota are the effort behind funding for Adam's House as they seek to honor his memory. Their experiences became their inspiration for the project.
