Cooler days are coming, and Shelton is celebrating the change of seasons.
Downtown Sounds: Fall Edition is a huge, two-day festival with live entertainment, costume contests, food trucks, vendors, and kids’ activities. The bands appearing on the first day are The Alpaca Gnomes, and Christopher Cavaliere, and those scheduled for Day Two are the Lee-Ann Lovelace Band, Michael Sanford Day & The Hard Feelings, and The Gaslight Tinkers. On the first day, there will also be a special Kids Hour featuring Hands on Drumming. The next day, the Kids Hour will feature Tom Weber Music.
Vendors currently scheduled include AKHOMESIGNS, Sweet Bond, Star light treats LLC, Adorn My Face, GEAL LLC, Plushed by Amy, and Marbled Marvels. There is still an opportunity for more vendors to participate.
Food trucks are a huge part of these events, and a partial list promises that everyone will find something tasty. Among the participants are Cinco de Mayo, Drowsy Whaler, SWAT Southern Wings and Things, and Big Dipper Ice Cream.
A pet event may be the highlight of the festival, as the 2nd Annual Pup Parade & Costume Contest is now on the way.
The festival is October 11, from 5.00 pm until 10.00 pm, and October 12, from 11.00 am until 8.00 pm, at Veterans Memorial Park at 38 Canal Street East. The pup parade is at 3.15 pm on October 12. Organizers of events like this will often contact printers who use banner printing to create suitable decorations.
