A small business in Shelton is planning a fundraiser to help its neighbor.
For a few hours only, the Sona Bella Salon & Spa is holding a “Glam-A-Thon” for the benefit of Adam’s House, a grief support center for children, teens, and their families. Attendees at the event will have their choice of a wash and haircut for $25, a “kid’s cut” for $15, a Mini Mani for $12, or a Mini Shellac Mani for $25. All proceeds will go directly to Adam’s House. Organizers of events like this can use flyer printing to promote the special occasion.
The Adam’s Wysota Foundation provides peer support and grief education at The Adam’s House, a comfortable facility that will remind people of home. At The Adam’s House, families and children who are grieving meet separately, the children in one group and adults in another. The children are further divided into sub-groups by age – the “Littles” (3 to 6), the “Middles” (7 to 12), and the “Teens” (13-18). Each group is facilitated by an expert in grief counseling.
The programs are eight weeks long and comprise a weekly meeting which everyone must commit to attending. All programs are free of charge.
The “Glam-A-Thon” is scheduled for March 27, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. The salon is on Coram Avenue in Shelton, and patrons are asked to pay in cash. The event is being held by appointment only.
