The Connecticut Cryptid and UFO Awareness Convention will be held soon in Trumbull, a short distance from Shelton, at the Trumbull Mariott. Congressional hearings about the existence of UFOs have renewed interest in the subject, and since Connecticut is known for its tales of cryptids, convention organizers felt it would be appropriate to have the convention there.
Team Empath, which is organizing the event, notes that the number of UFO sightings in Connecticut has been increasing. Cryptids are creatures that are claimed to exist through anecdotal evidence, but for which no scientific proof has been discovered. The preeminent example of a cryptid is Bigfoot.
Among the participants at the convention will be cryptozoologists such as Ronny LeBlanc, who is with Expedition Bigfoot, along with psychics, ufologists, and vendors. People who believe they have been abducted by aliens will speak about their experiences as well.
A display of artifacts will include a dress worn by an alleged abductee. The team will also display its paranormal museum, which includes supposedly haunted dolls.
The cryptid and UFO convention is scheduled for June 8 and 9, from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm both days. When they plan events like this, organizers often use poster printing to advertise them.
