HR seminar scheduled in March

The Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) is hosting a seminar on human resources next month.

The CBIA 2020 Human Resources Conference will take place at the Trumbull Marriott Shelton, located in nearby Trumbull. The address to the hotel is 180 Hawley Lane.

A breakfast for networking will begin the seminar and give everyone a chance to check in. There will be a lecture on solutions to finding workplace talent and planning, before attendees begin to select their activities for the day.

Attendees have a choice of sessions on financial stability for employees, background Checks, or workplace gender topics. After a short break for networking, attendees can learn about performance management, reviewing the employee handbook, and the basics of human resources.

Lunch will be another opportunity for individuals to network before heading into the final sets of lectures. Workshops on empowering the workforce, the Family Medical Leave Act, and a continuation of human resources basics run simultaneously.

Finally, attendees can go to seminars on compensation, the Fair Labor Standards Act, or emergencies in Human Resources. The event will conclude with updates on legislation, predictions for 2020, and closing remarks.

Registration is $149.95 for students, $202.07 for CONNSTEP clients and members of CBIA and the Society Human Resources Management, and $255.24 for general admission. The seminar is on March 26 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Bringing Business Cards is encouraged.
