Health library presents second presentation on healthcare

Griffin Hospital's Community Health Resource Center in the Derby/Shelton area will repeat its healthcare choice presentation.

The Center, located at 130 Division Street, received plenty of positive feedback from the original discussion. Joe Deegan will present Medicare CHOICES. He is a counselor for CHOICES, which stands for Connecticut's programs for Health Insurance, Outreach, Information, and Eligibility Screening.

The presentation is designed for those who qualify for Medicare, such as seniors, and those who care for them. They will be able to make more educated decisions about health insurance, and will be shown how to detect, report, and prevent abuse and fraud in healthcare. Along with Federal and State programs, the event will cover information on health insurance organizations such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Medigap.

The event is free of charge and will take place at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 29. It is part of the Community Health Resource Center's educational forum series to better community health overall. Interested parties can contact Deborah or Kerry at 203-732-7399.

The Community Health Resource Center is a conventional library at Griffin Hospital. The plethora of materials on health and medicine includes reader-friendly information on lifestyle and overall health. The community can go into the Center to learn how to prevent sickness, better their wellness, and make educated health decisions.
