Wright Investors' Service is to move its headquarters to Shelton by the end of the month.
The financial and investment services company started out in Bridgeport when it opened in 1960. Currently located at West Putnam Avenue in Greenwich where it has been since 2015, it is now moving to 2 Corporate Drive, where the R.D. Scinto building totals more than 5,000 square feet in area.
One month before disclosing the move, Khandwala Capital Management bought the company. Amit Khandwala, who is a veteran employee of Wright, owns KCM. According to Khandwala's recent press release, he is excited to buy the company. Together with his coworkers, he hopes to provide the level of client service and investment management that customers expect, as has been the company’s tradition for almost 60 years.
Khandwala intends to keep the Wright name for the company, as he appreciates the history and tradition attached to it. The name has been on his Business Cards for three decades, during which time he became chief investment officer and eventually one of the company’s CEOs.
One of the main reasons for the move is that many of the 23 employees currently working at Wright live in the northern part of Fairfield County and commuting has proven difficult. Khandwala believes that reducing the commute will increase productivity and keep morale high.
