Shelton and the rest of the Fairfield County area has educational opportunities available on a diverse range of topics.

Careers by Design LLC job coach Mark Danaher will host a lecture on changing careers. This presentation is geared toward people who are unsure about their career path, whether due to being in an undesirable position, an unstable or stagnant industry, or the desire to start afresh.

Danaher will highlight eight tactics on improving flexibility, which makes a career change easier and allows attendees to keep up with the changing job market. At the conclusion of the lecture, attendees should be better prepared for professional growth, change, and more career freedom.

Attendees must register to participate, which is they can do via Patch. After signing up, attendees will get an email to remind them about the meeting with the link to the Zoom server and details pertaining to the lecture. The Fairfield County Chapter of Approved Baseball Umpires (FCCABU) is beginning umpire training sessions for the upcoming baseball season. There will be four weeks of online training before practice starts in the field. Registration and more information are available on the FCCABU website.

Danaher’s talk on Making a Successful Career Pivot in Post-Pandemic Times will stream on February 1 at 6:30 pm, then the first FCCABU training session is February 7.
