Comedy showcase to raise a laugh near Shelton

A comedy evening in Derby, a short distance from Shelton, will give audiences a chance to laugh aloud.

The roster of comedians lighting up the month of March features Janine Vigilante, Avery Quinn, Berger, and Collin Canterbury. Kevin Dolan is the headliner and Pat Oates is the host for the evening.

Canterbury is a native of Connecticut who often appears at the Elbow Room in Hartford. The young comedian frequently tells jokes based on his upbringing and the questionable choices he has made thus far in his life.

Dolan will be a familiar face to many, as he was a professional actor for almost three decades, appearing on the stage and in both film and television. His television credits include “Guiding Light,” “All My Children,” “MacGyver,” and “Falcon Crest.” His film appearances include “The Stepford Wives.”

He has performed comedy in such clubs as Gotham in New York City, The Funny Bone in Hartford, and New Haven’s Joker’s Wild. His observational style of comedy is suitable for everyone, as he jokes about subjects such as his religious upbringing and pop culture.

The event is set for March 15 at RiverWalk Social at 17 Elizabeth Street in Derby. The show starts at 8.00 pm, and attendees are welcome to arrive early to eat. People may also eat and have drinks during the show. When events like this are planned, organizers will often work with poster printing shops to create suitable advertisements for the evening.
