What's Happening in Shelton, CT…

A Connecticut club has scheduled an evening of comedy that may be of interest to Shelton residents who are up for a laugh.

The Twisted Vine in Derby is showing out the old year and bringing in the new with a night of comedy courtesy of Pat Oates, Avery Quinn, and Motts Pelazza. Pat Oates is a Connecticut native who has appeared on television in E!’s The Soup, and on TLC. He also has a podcast and is the author of an advice book, “How Not to Suck at Comedy.”

Avery Quinn is a native of Hartford who is now based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. In 2021, Avery was a semifinalist in the ‘Phunniest Person Contest in Philadelphia’. He works throughout the region, and appeared on the Oxygen Network’s series “Masterminds of Murder.”

Michael “Motts” Pelazza delivered mail for 46 years, and has been a comedian for 45, although, in his words, the two may not be connected. He has performed across the country and opened for stars such as Kevin Meaney, Damon Wayans, and more. He has appeared on “Impractical Jokers,” and is an announcer for local events in Stamford.

The event starts early for those who would rather be home by the time midnight rolls around. During the show, drinks and food will be served. After the comedy is over, musical entertainment is scheduled. Hosts of events like this can create advertisements for them using poster printing.

The show is slated for December 31 at 7.30pm, and the Twisted Vine is at 285 Main Street in Derby.
