Shelton is getting ready to celebrate a community resource with an evening of community spirit, fun, and music.
Echo Hose Ambulance has been serving Shelton for 75 years, and a celebration has been organized to honor the organization. Echo Hose is a non-profit, emergency ambulance service that was originally established in 1949 when it was part of the Shelton Fire Department. As emergency medicine changed, the ambulance service became an independent unit within the public safety system in Shelton. Echo Hose responds to approximately 7,000 incidents annually.
The bands at this celebration are Chuck’s in London, who are opening for the headliner, Mullett. Mullett is the go-to band for fans of the 80s Big Hair, arena rock bands like Poison, Journey, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Van Halen and others. Mullett provides faithful renditions of the classic rock hits people love.
It’s appropriate that the entertainment is an 80s band, as 1988 is an important year for Shelton and Echo Hose, as it’s the year the city built an EMS headquarters which is the home of the ambulance service.
The Echo Hose Ambulance party is September 6, from 6.00 pm until 11.00 pm, at the Shelton Riverwalk. Chuck’s in London performs at 6.00 pm, followed by Mullett at 8.30 pm. Admission is free, and everyone is encouraged to bring a picnic and enjoy the music. Local businesses will have refreshments and food for sale. When they organize events like this, planners often work with poster printing to create advertisements.
