In collaboration with the New Paradigm Theater, The Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, which brings classic musicals to Norwalk every year, will present Guys and Dolls in concert in early February.
Over 30 musicians and Broadway soloists will be bringing the big brassy score to the story of guys (three 1930s New York City small-town gamblers) and their dolls (including the pious beautiful Sergeant Sarah Brown and showgirl Adelaide). Written by Frank Loesser, the score will include Luck be a Lady (a Frank Sinatra favorite), if I Were A Bell (a joyful love song), Adelaide's Lament (a comic musical look at psychosomatic illness) and Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat (an audience favorite).
Tickets range from $11.50 to $61.50.
A preconcert reception where guest may meet the musicians and actors will cost $25.00 and will begin at 6:00 pm in the lobby before the performance.
Both types of tickets may be e-mailed, picked up at will Call at the box office, Box Office or mailed first class.
Concert organizers usually get their programs, tickets and other paper materials to local printing services months before the event to be sure the materials are ready.
Guys and Dolls in Concert will take place at Norwalk Concert Hall inside Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Avenue. The performance will run from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm February 7th.
