Norwalk celebrates Earth Day

The 5th Annual Norwalk Earth Day Festival on the Green will take place in late April.

Thousands of Norwalk residents and their furry friends are expected to attend this year's family-friendly event celebrating earth conservation.

Local artists will be providing live entrainment on Norwalk Green all afternoon. Local food trucks will be offering traditional spring snacks, candy, and treats for purchase. Educational fun, interactive exhibits, and face painting will be some of the kids' activities. Attendees may enjoy meandering through the 75 organizations and vendors selling eco-conscious themed items and services. A "Trashion" Show will put a twist on the traditional fashion show, with clothes and accessories made entirely from materials that have been recycled.

The community will be invited to be part of a tree planting experience. Panels and speakers will include environmental champions and local leaders. Local and regional organizations that are concerned about our environment and its conservation will have booths with information, Promotional Products, Brochures, and Flyers about how to join and make a difference.

Guided bike rides and walks will be offered in celebration of the natural beauty that is Norwalk. Other activities will be concerned with healing arts and will offer experiences that nourish the mind, body, and community spirit.

Rain or shine, the event will take place at Norwalk Green, 8th Park Street on Saturday, April 25 from noon to 4:00 pm.
