History buffs and those here in Norwalk looking for an entertaining evening may be interested in attending "History That Doesn't Suck" coming in late October.
Professor Greg Jackson will be putting on a presentation of American History that he claims "doesn't suck" which translated means, he has found ways to bring topics to life in ways that keep audiences entertained even as they are learning.
For 100 minutes, Professor Jackson will take the audience through the nation's first 100 years and discuss how it affects us today. This stage production will include live musicians, lights and videos. Many of the characters and stories have been taken from earlier HTDS episodes of his podcast of the same name.
He certainly has credentials as he holds a PHD in history from the University of Utah and is currently a Senior Fellow National Security Studies and one of Utah Valley University's Associate Professors and Fellow of Integrated Studies.
The professor's only agenda is to turn scholarly, legitimate, American History research into educationally accessible storytelling.
Those that support events like this occasionally get some flyer printing done and place Flyers around their communities, and in clubs and workplaces.
History That Doesn't Suck will take place at District Music Hall, 71 Wall Street, Friday October 24th. Doors will open at 7:00 pm and the program will begin at 8:00 pm. Tickets begin at $31.84.
