Norwalk Partnership comprised of Positive Directions, and the Norwalk Health Department will host its 5th Annual NorWALK for Mental Health and Wellness Fair in early May.
The free 1.5-mile walk will start around 11:00 am and will be an out-and-back starting from the Town Green, continuing down East Avenue headed for the highway and back. Volunteers will be located along the route and police will be assisting at intersections. The surfaces will be stroller and wheelchair friendly and paved.
The Wellness Fair will open at 10:00 am with around 70 agencies giving mental health screenings, manning mindfulness stations, and overseeing crafts, games, youth engagement tables and other family activities such as Tai Chi and Mini-Zumba. Many agencies will also be passing out resource materials and giveaways including Promotional Products such as promotional Pens, mug koozies, and yardsticks.
Right before the walk, local community advocates, elected officials, mental-health leaders, coordinators and ambassadors will be giving opening remarks.
Agencies that support events like this often have pictures taken during the festivities. These photos are then taken to Print shops to be duplicated for agency newsletters and advertising purposes.
This year's NorWALK and Mental Health and Wellness Fair will take place on the Norwalk Town Green, 8 Park Street from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm, Saturday, May 2nd. Rain date will be May 9th.
