Norwalks traditional festival returns

The 47th Annual Norwalk Oyster Festival will be coming to Norwalk in early September.

Rock, country, and tribute bands will perform on multiple stages, and the festival will also have the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show and Ready Go Dog Show. An Arts and Crafts Village will see artisans and crafters vending handmade items including pottery, jewelry, and woodcrafts, and the venue will have carnival rides, interactive exhibits, and games.

Those coming for the main reason for the event can enjoy oysters, clam chowder, shrimp, calamari, crab cakes, lobster rolls, and international bites at the Food Court. Over 60 food vendors will offer plenty of choices. Local brews and craft beer will be available for purchase.

Admission to the festival will be $15 per day for adults and $10 per day for children from ages 5 to 12 (free on Sunday). Proceeds will go to the preservation and maintenance of the Sheffield Island Lighthouse.

A free shuttle service will be available from City Hall, Calf Pasture Beach and Norwalk Community college.

Towns that have events like this often get their banner printing done on canvas at local Print shops so they can reuse the Banners every year.
